Opening Hours
Hospital services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
Other services operate Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm.

Child Health Centre operating hours:
Appointments available Monday and Tuesday morning, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday afternoons.
Open Sessions - Monday 1.30pm to 3.30pm and Friday 10.00am to 12.00pm.
The Parenting Line is available any time to assist parents with stressful parenting issues or concerns. Phone: 1300 808 178.
 

The New Norfolk District Hospital provides 14 sub-acute beds, radiology, physiotherapy, podiatry, community health, mental health services, child health services and visiting consultants.

Brief description of service provided

The New Norfolk District Hospital provides 14 sub-acute beds with 24hrs care for inpatients. Specialist services available include radiology, physiotherapy, podiatry, community health, mental health services, child health services and visiting consultants. New Norfolk N Hospital does not provide 24/7 service or emergency service to the general public.

GPs located in New Norfolk have admitting rights to the hospital as does Dr Swart from Central Highlands General Practice. Clients come from areas outside New Norfolk.

The New Norfolk Community Health Centre provides residents with the opportunity to access quality health and community services. There are a number of community services, visiting services and support groups that operate from the centre at various times. Some services require referrals through TasCarePoint and MyAged Care, others can be self-refer or by GPs.

Community Nursing, Community Home Care Community Social Worker Oral Health – Child (bub to 18yrs), Podiatry Foot Care, Australian Hearing, Audio clinic, Alcohol & Drug services, Mental Health,Psychiatrist, , Speech Therapist – adult & child, Holyoake, Continence clinic, Westaway Program, Walking Group, Diabetes Educator.

Provides home visits and clinic sessions. Provides a holistic service for people of all ages. Can self-refer through TasCarePoint. To make a referral please contact TasCarePoint 1300 721 611 There is a small fee associated with this service. Covers the DV and part of the Southern Midlands.

Services

Assessment and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. Early discharge from hospital. Hospital avoidance programs, wound management, post-operative care, palliative care, continence management, health care advice and health/wellness promotion. Assistance with frail aged, people with dementia, people with disabilities and support to families and carers.
